Dr. LaTasha Carroway Quarles — retired U.S. Army veteran and Doctor of Social Work

Meet Dr. Quarles

Twenty years in uniform. Five degrees. One mission that never changed.

Dr. LaTasha Carroway Quarles is a retired United States Army veteran, a Doctor of Social Work, an author, and the founder of four organizations built around a single conviction: no one should have to navigate a hard transition alone.

Her career began in service to country and continues in service to community. Where the military gave her discipline, structure, and a bias toward getting things done, her doctoral work gave her the clinical language and evidence base to do that work well. Clients get both: the precision of a soldier and the compassion of a practitioner who has lived the transition she is helping them through.

The Work

Four roles, one throughline: showing up with excellence.

Retired U.S. Army Veteran

Two decades in uniform shaped a standard of discipline, accountability, and calm leadership under pressure — the same standard she brings to every client engagement.

Doctor of Social Work

Five earned degrees culminating in a doctorate, with clinical grounding in mental health, trauma-informed care, and the realities facing service members and their families.

Founder & Operator

Leads four organizations spanning notary services, housing advocacy, travel planning, and women veterans' advocacy — each built to close a gap she saw firsthand.

Published Author

Author of “From the Housing Project to a Doctorate Degree,” a first-person account of resilience, education, and the long road from where she started to where she serves.

Her Story

From the housing project to the doctorate.

Dr. Quarles served on active duty in the United States Army, where she led soldiers, mentored junior service members, and learned what it costs a family when a mission call comes at 2 a.m. That experience is not a line on a résumé for her — it is the reason she does this work.

She earned every one of her five degrees while serving and raising a family, finishing with a Doctor of Social Work. Today she pairs that clinical foundation with real operational experience: intake, advocacy, documentation, housing systems, VA processes, and the human conversation that has to happen before any of it works.

Her Mission

Nobody should have to navigate the hardest chapter of their life alone.

Dr. Quarles builds services around the moments where people usually fall through the cracks: the week after the uniform comes off, the housing appeal nobody explains, the document that has to be signed tonight, the woman veteran who was never asked how she was doing. Her mission is to make those moments navigable — with clarity, dignity, and follow-through.

“Do it right, do it on time, and leave people better than you found them.”
